Austin, Texas—Congressional candidate Derrick Crowe today welcomed the endorsement of the University of Texas chapter of University Democrats. Crowe is a progressive Democrat running to replace U.S. Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas, in Texas’ 21st Congressional District.
“This campaign is uniting young people and the working class against the influence of corporations, Wall Street, and the ultra-wealthy,” Crowe said. “Higher education costs, shocking income inequality, and accelerating climate change—these challenges will not wait, and I want to face them head-on. I am honored and thrilled to be endorsed by the University Democrats and look forward to working with them to win this primary and the general election.”
Crowe previously won the endorsement of Bexar County Young Democrats, in addition to recent endorsements by Our Revolution San Antonio and Central Texas, Left Up to US, Justice Democrats, Democracy for America, and Blue America. Crowe also handily won the Bexar County Democrats 2018 Primary Straw Poll.
Crowe’s platform includes fighting corporate power and Wall Street influence through policies like College for All, Medicare for All, a $15/hour minimum wage, and urgent climate change action. Learn more about Crowe’s candidacy: https://electcrowe.com.
